Too broke to afford a dating coach, I turned to a local bookstore and came out with Cupid’s Playbook: How to Play the Dating Game to Win by Jeannine and Keith Kaiser. So far, this book is reading unlike any other dating advice book I’ve ever read before. Too often, I feel as if other dating books place fault in other people. It’s not your fault he’s not into you, go ahead and move on they say. Cupid’s Playbook on the other hand, doesn’t want you to move on unless you know who you are to know what you want out of dating and relationships.

To do this, the book is filled with quick exercises that are designed to help you learn about yourself. Sounds a little juvenile, but it’s been worth it for me just for the fact that I’m learning a lot about myself. Exercises are as simple as you writing a list of things you want out of a relationship and things you don’t want. I did this once for myself and realized that I’ve gotten away with dating people that did not match any of the items on my list of things I want. In fact, these people fall under a category set by this book — the commitment phobic. No wonder I’m single!

I’m still in the process of reading this book, but so far so good. I’ll have a full blown review posted soon.
