Based on sales data of romance novels; sex and relationship books; romantic comedy DVDs; Barry White CDs; and sexual wellness products since Jan. 1, 2010, on a per capita basis in cities with over 100,000 residents, the top 20 most romantic cities in the U.S. are:

4. Ann Arbor, Mich.
5. Berkeley, Calif.
6. Gainesville, Fla.
7. Arlington, Va.
8. Salt Lake City, Utah

Interestingly, the data reveals three interesting things:

–Virginia, with three cities in the Top 20, may be for lovers like the state’s tourism slogan says, but Florida is for romantics, with four cities–Miami, Gainesville, Orlando, and Tallahassee–ranked among the Top 20 Most Romantic Cities.

–Miami is the Sexiest City in America, winning the top spot in the sexual wellness category.

–And lastly, rounding out the bottom of the list are El Monte, Calif.; Paterson, N.J.; and Miami Gardens, Fla., as the Least Romantic Cities, coming in with the fewest number of overall purchases in the determining categories, on a per capita basis in cities over 100,000 residents.
