I took to the streets, (and by streets I mean Facebook and Twitter) to ask one simple question that got many diverse answers: In dating, what’s a deal breaker for you? This is what people had to say in response:

Tweets @jinra:
ourcitylights - Laziness!

jujukoo - Inability to communicate. People say I’m too harsh, but I’m good at soulja-boy tellin’ it. It prevents problems in the long run.

dle43- if she: talks to much, judgmental, high maintenance, complains non-stop, takes more than 30 mins to get ready even when we’re late

dle43 - won’t make sandwiches (J/K), doesn’t like dogs, does not drink, and have no sense of moral/ethical values

BabyLemonade -bad hygiene

nessanguyen - when the person I am dating either doesn’t get along with my friends or tells me to my face that he hates my friends = dealbreaker.

runningboard - humor, height, and honesty.

runningboard
- oh and hormones. as in, overactive hormones cuz mark doesnt like sluts.

Twalala - on a second date he ordered his burger protein style bc he had a thing against carbs.

hanako66 - dishonesty!

ccchellesss - in dating, bad hygiene is a HUGE deal breaker.

Emiwenis - honest to goodness racism.

Facebook Responses:

“powerful incisors, claws like swords, the voice of a banshee, hair like snakes…but mostly flakiness and checking out other men.” - Joseph Delos Reyes

“Someone who plays the victim, doesn’t have a backbone, self-centeredness, overbearing, or too shy and doesn’t have an opinion. I can’t stand super laidback, unadventerous ppl. It’s a lot of deal breakers for me, but I’ve learned these are the type of ppl I can’t stand to be around, let alone date.” - Jean Khut

“hairiness…especially cheast and back hair…it makes me throw up in my mouth!!!” - Denise Jarvis

“Conceited…ness and Lying….” - Andi Seaman

“Cockiness and lying … And honestly … Bad hygiene!” - Monique Davis

“Outtie Belly Buttons! Socks in Bed.” - Mara Mendoza

“Drug users and clingy needy ppl.” - Jeannie Dinh

“sluttiness. i can’t respect a girl who has had one night stands.” - Cindy Mai

“people who read blogs for dating advice ;P” - Shaun Pham

“Someone who is too clingy and/or dishonest.” - Stefanie Becker

It seems like most people prefer those who have good hygiene, are independent and honest.
