Let’s face it. The century we are living in now is full of things that make our lives convenient. From cell phones to computers/laptops, technology enabled us to communicate with people from the opposite side of the world. Somehow, talking to people online can develop into having online relationships. Are they worth it? Let’s analyze it.

The only good thing about it is that talking to them is just one click away. With just Facebook and Twitter, we can talk to them about anything we want. However, the good thing stops there. Since the Internet makes everything TOO convenient, we might become isolated since we can just stay home and talk online, as opposed to going out to meet new people. Another problem is that we eventually have to meet the person we are dating, and meeting them in person is completely different from talking to them online. You wouldn’t personally know what to do or what to say to them. It might eventually result in a long awkward silence. This is not the right way to meet partners.

Personally, I can never understand people who are involved in online relationships. They shouldn’t even be considered as relationships because what can you possibly do besides talking to them online? You won’t be able to do all the things that couples get to do when they go out on a date! I would be sad and devastated.

What do you think?
