“I love you.” - Three words that are either said too much that they lose their meaning, or not said enough. This Valentine’s Day add a little twist to the boring “Roses are red, violets are blue” with these more creative “I love you”s!

If you’re a little too embarrassed to go for the more full-blown romantic sayings, here’s something a little more conservative:
“Everyone has their own reason for waking up in the morning…Mine is you.”

Want to keep things short and sweet? Here’s a Sylvia Plath quote:
“What did my hands do before they held you?”

Of course, we have to include a Shakespeare quote for the literary buffs:
“Doubt thou the stars are fire. Doubt that the sun doth move. Doubt truth to be a liar. But never doubt my love.”

Another saying as poetic as Shakespeare but a little deeper (by Judy Garland):
“For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.”

Just because “Roses are red” has grown old, it doesn’t mean rhymes have! A much better poem:
“If a kiss was a raindrop I’d send you a shower, if a hug was a second I’d send you an hour, if a smile was water I’d send you the sea, if you needed love I’d send you me.”

Instead of just saying “I love you,” you can also show the extent of your love:
“If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you’ve made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand.”

“If you count all the stars in the sky, all the grains of sand in the oceans, all the roses in the world and all the smiles that have ever been, then you will have a sample of how much I love you.”

“If I was to make a list of everything I love about you, that list would never end because at the rate it takes to name them all I find even more.”

Show some wit with this one (my personal favorite!):
“Everyone wants to be the sun that lights up your life. But I’d rather be your moon, so I can shine on you during your darkest hour when your sun isn’t around.”

And if you really can’t resist those three words:
“If there’s time for only three words in my lifetime, it would be, I love you.”

If these don’t get the message across then I don’t know what will! Which would you say to your special someone on Valentine’s Day?
