If you’re in the position where you’re always getting into a heated argument with your boyfriend, fear no more! Arguments happen all the time between between couples because face it, we’re not the same person, so of course we don’t agree on the same concepts. Here are some tips as to how you can stop a fight with your boyfriend.
1) Take a 30 minute pause.
This means by not seeing each other for at least 30 minutes. Seperate, do something by yourself and calm down while you’re at it. Studies have shown that it takes at least 30 minutes to calm down fully. Once you’re calm, you can re-engage in your discussion and you should be able to make your statements more clear to each other.
2) Let him know you’re listening
You may not just agree with what he’s trying to argue about but you should let him know that you understand he has a valid argument and you respect that. What often makes an argument from a calm discussion to a heated moment is the thought that the other isn’t listening to what they are saying.
