First appearances on first dates are perhaps the most important, as they will leave an everlasting impression, be it positive or negative. It’s where you have the chance to connect with that man or woman and you pay extra attention to whatever you do. But also, keep in mind that your body language plays a huge role as well. Here are some first-date body language mistakes to not show (this can be applied to both parties):
Fiddling Around - If you play with objects around you, you’re probably nervous. But to the other person, you probably look disinterested or lack confidence as well as being nervous. Just stay and not fidget so much.
Nodding Too Much - Nodding too much may indicate that you’re really bored of what the other person is talking about or want said person to finish talking. That’s a no-no. Try to listen as much as you can. After all, you’re going to talk about yourself and you would want the other party to listen, right?
Intense Eye Contact - Try not to stare too much. It can be very uncomfortable to the other person, even if you’re very interested. Don’t make it too awkward.
