It’s pretty much a natural reflex to see a text, and reply right away (unless it’s someone you hate of course). Also, I’m sure it’s not the first time you guys may have heard the phrase “Girls should not take the initiative in a relationship”. This blog is all about incorporating the two factors together.

Here are three reasons as to why your text message back to your boyfriend, or girlfriend, should wait!

1) Waiting keeps them wondering: The more they wait for your text back, the more they’re going to wonder “hmm I wonder what he/she is doing”. This basically means that the person’s head will be filled with nothing but you!

2) Waiting lets you take control of the conversation: No one’s a computer at texting, and I’m sure the other person made you wait for a text back before (let it be a trip to the loo or just to grab a bite). So, you must bring that up a notch for yourself! Make them wait, so that they’ll feel like they need to reply fast for YOU to reply fast as well!

3) Waiting signals your independence: Honestly, if someone texted me back in 2 secs, I can only assume that they had their phone right next to them. And if the fast-text-back over a long period of time, I can only assume that this person obviously has no life except with his/her phone! Show the person you like that you have self-control, and obviously has better things to do except for texting. First they won’t think you’re a creep anymore, second, they might even wonder what kind of exciting life you may be leading.

Patience is a virtue. Hold back the desire to text back right away!
