How do men and women remember things?

Perhaps that’s why men and women think so differently! When it comes to their memories, men tend to remember things completely opposite to what the women often recall. We know this thanks to a new study from those at Montreal’s Louis-H Lafontaine Hospital.

The conclusion? The researches have to come to realize that while the females have a good memory when it comes to the joyful events, but the males have a tendency to keep the bad and ugly memories.

They found this out by showing people of both genders different kinds of images. These images:

“…fell into four categories-highly pleasant and highly stimulating (erotic pics), highly pleasant and less stimulating (photos of babies and kittens), less pleasant and highly stimulating (war images), and less pleasant and less stimulating (babies crying).”

While flipping through the pictures, which were consistently randomized, the responses of their brain activity were tested through some machines. Then they were tested on which ones they recall.

You probably already have an idea of the results. While stimulation of the pictures didn’t really affect women, they did remember the highly pleasant photos. Men, on the other hand, easily remembered the unpleasant and highly stimulating photos.

Does this study explain the tendencies of males? Perhaps it does.
