So, having burned through my surplus body fat, I emerged from my winter hibernation to attend another Speed Dating Event. I think it went pretty well. But at the same time, it reminded me of certain thoughts I had on the previous one; and thoughts I have on living in New York City in general. So, bear with a moment if you will. More »

For daters, it’s important to know that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Hopefully this week’s batch of pick-up lines inspires you.
The Good: (cheesy) I know somebody that thinks they might like you a lot. And if I wasn’t so shy, I would tell you who it is. More »

My last pseudo date has inspired me to be more proactive in figuring out a means to distinguish the time I spend with the opposite sex as a date or just hanging out. Of course I only call it a pseudo date because it’s still unclear to me whether it was hanging out or if it was an actual date. After much soul searching, late night phone calls with every kindred spirit I could talk to/person willing to pretend like they were listening to me, a new resolution to this problem has presented itself to me. Once again, I took to the streets and Facebook to ask people the age-old question, “Who should pay on a date?” The responses I received are so varied that I don’t think we’ll ever reach one universal answer.
“I paid on all the dates I’ve been on but according to my friends that are girls, they said pay on the 1st date and on subsequent dates, either split the bill or take turns paying. I use monopoly money sometimes.” - David Le, 26, Allergan employee.
“Either split the bill…or pay for it myself. If the other person ends up fighting until death for the bill then I usually feel obligated to go on a SECOND date and pay for that bill so there are NO expectations….of who knows what!” - Tamara Nguyen, 25. More »

If you are a girl, celebrity, guy, friend, someone online, an older man, a white woman, a doctor, a model or a best friend, congratulations! According to a Google search, most people want to date you. After all, why would anyone go through the extra effort of searching for how-to advice on Google? Although, something tells me that if you’re a celebrity, white woman, model or doctor, you have an easier time finding dates since most people fall under the category of guy, girl, someone online or friend. Or, you’re just a harder person to approach for a date. More »

Things that my ex’s would say about me
I know this is the kind of site that you are suppose to talk about yourself and make you sound interesting enough for someone to want to reply. I could do that, but I am sure it is going to be the same as every other post out there. So, I have thought about it and I figured I will write some things down that people have said about me and maybe it will make me look good. I am a great listener, polite, I am considerate and respectful, I pay attention and actually care about who you are, I am not selfish in bed and like the intimacy of sex as well as the craziness, I have a good head on my shoulders even though I let it go sometimes, I can always make you laugh even if it is a stupid goofy comment, I kiss like you want to be kissed, I have nice blue eyes, I am real, I dont have drama and dont play games, I am open and honest and you will know what I feel and where I stand. That is a small taste of what i am about. Other than that, I am about tall, in decent shape with blue eyes Let me know what you think

I recently took to the streets and Facebook to ask people an important question regarding dating: Would you date someone with kids? Here’s what people had to say:
“Honestly depends on whether both the kids parents are still in the picture. I would date someone with a kid, but I wouldn’t want to be a step-in dad. There would have to be boundaries.” - Spencer vonHershman,20, blogger.
“If his ex has full custody, why the hell not?” - Kristine Macabuhay, 25, student. More »

I went on date two with Fausto. A brunch date at Aquagrill. A cute place. Not too romantic. No reservations needed. He wore a t-shirt and jeans and looked more relaxed than our first date in his suit.
Within minutes of sitting down he surprised me.
He placed a package wrapped in black tissue paper, tied with a black ribbon, with a cream colored embossed note attached. More »

Gaining extra winter weight, affects us all. Even dating sites. International dating site BeautifulPeople.com, has recently imposed a strict ban on “ugly people” for the new year. What’s ugly to BeautifulPeople.com? Overweight people. To enforce the ban, the site canned at least 5,000 people from their site for being overweight. Not only is this an incredibly insensitive and terrible move, one has to wonder: How do they expect to do business? Surely 5,000 lost accounts equates to a sizable financial lost. That’s enough people to start ANOTHER dating site. More »

Ok, I have decided to bring this question to the open minded men of CL. Is it wrong to want a guy to be borderline abusive? I am a sexy vibrant outspoken female. I dont have low self esteem but I dont claim to be flawless. I am often approached by guys but none of them seem to have that mean streak I’m looking for. I seek a guy thats as extreme as myself. Sometime he will be a perfect gentleman and treat me like the queen I am and when the wrong button is pushed he will turn into a raging bull. I’m not talking about just the bedroom either. I mean I want the controling boyfriend who wants to know where I am, what I’m doing, and whom with. I want to be roughed up every now and then. I want intense fights that are followed by passionate make up sex. So again I ask, am I crazy??
